Privacy Policy
Last Updated: April 17, 2026
1. Compliance Commitment
Lerna Digital (Pty) Ltd ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy is constructed in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) of South Africa and standard data protection regulations.
2. Information We Collect
As an independent software studio, we practice strict data minimalism. To deliver our browser utilities and software securely, we collect:
- Platform IDs: Gathered via standard Community Platform Authentication to provision software licenses and community roles.
- Payment Metadata: Anonymized transaction statuses provided by our authorized payment gateways to confirm your subscription status.
- Contact Information: Email addresses provided voluntarily during support or billing inquiries.
Note: We do not process, collect, or store raw credit card numbers, bank details, or private cryptographic wallet keys on our servers.
3. How We Use Your Data
Data collected is used exclusively to:
- Verify and authenticate your digital software license (e.g., the Lerna Engine).
- Provide automated access to our private community platform.
- Prevent fraudulent access, chargebacks, or unauthorized license redistribution.
- Communicate important technical updates regarding our software.
4. Third-Party Sharing
Lerna Digital does not sell, rent, or lease customer data to third parties. Data is only shared with trusted infrastructure partners (such as secure merchant gateways, community platforms, or API authenticators) strictly for the purpose of executing the services you have purchased, or when compelled by law enforcement under South African jurisdiction.
5. Data Retention & Deletion Rights
We retain authentication data only as long as an active subscription or license remains valid. Users retain the right to request access to, correction of, or permanent deletion of their data from our databases at any time. A request for deletion will result in the immediate termination of associated software licenses, as authentication will no longer be possible.
